The Hampden Historical Society is pleased to announce that we are now in the midst of Phase 2 construction. As you can see from the picture above, the 40+ year-old siding has been removed from the Kinsley House Museum. If you look closely, you can see the original wide-board construction. Some of the boards measure as much as 20 inches wide.
The contractors have begun replacing windows and adding the insulation. Work is also in progress to repair the wood around the beautiful, fan-light front entrance. The granite step will be repaired and reset as well. We are looking forward to completing the construction portion of Phase 2 by the end of June.
The Society is most grateful to the over 200 donors whose contributions have brought us so close to completing the $500,000 goal we have set for the Our History Lives Here Capital Campaign. However, we are not done.
If you are able, please help us with the final push to the finish line by clicking on the PayPal link on this site, or mailing your donation to PO Box 456, Hampden, ME 04444. Your donation will be truly appreciated.
