At the Kinsley House You Can. . .

Step Into 19th-Century Life

At the Kinsley House, you can walk through rooms once lived in by Martin Kinsley—a Revolutionary War veteran and early U.S. congressman. Explore original details like pumpkin-pine floors, carved moldings, and a summer kitchen that reveal how people lived, worked, and entertained over 200 years ago.

Discover Hampden’s Hidden Stories

Let us help you take a look into Hampden’s past through old letters, genealogy, maps, and photographs in our onsite archives maintained by the  Hampden Historical Society. Our volunteers are passionate about what they do and will be happy to help. Whether you're a student, researcher, or just curious, there's a treasure trove of history waiting to be explored.

Want to be part of preserving the past?

The Hampden Historical Society is open to new members annually. Society members work together to host the Katherine Trickey Archives, assist folks near and far with research, gather together for monthly programs, and host community-centered events & tours.
