It is with a heavy heart that we want to inform you a beloved HHS
member, Patsy Husson, has passed away on January 12, 2026. She was
an active member of the society contributing in various ways
throughout the years. She was an HHS board member, the “First Lady”
when her husband, Jim, was HHS President, a great root beer float
maker and worker during yard sales, an eager and valued bazaar
contributor, our “lunch lady” with her Back-Porch Stew for workers
during events, the editor and guru of our Facebook page, along with
being our photographer and scrapbook maker for Heritage Days,
monthly meetings and special events. She also loved to contribute by
making and selling her crafts and cards for the benefit of the society.
But many of you would best remember her if you came to our
Christmas bazaar and saw her there as she was Mrs. Claus! She will be
missed by not only the members of the Hampden Historical Society but
those who knew her both in Hampden and beyond. Godspeed, Patsy.
